Kit Lam
Senior Designer & Operations
SingaporeKit looks for the human story within complex challenges — the experiences, behaviours and perspectives that reveal what is really happening beneath the surface. Bringing together human-centred research, service design and communication, she examines challenges through the eyes of the people navigating them, uncovering assumptions, unmet needs and the gaps between how something is intended to work and how it is actually experienced. She translates these insights into narratives, services and interventions that can create meaningful change.
A strong thread through her practice is the role communication plays in shaping experience and behaviour. Kit believes that the way information is framed, structured and expressed can influence how people understand a service, make decisions and build trust with the organisations behind them. With a foundation in editorial and multimedia design, her work in visual storytelling and information design has been recognised with multiple design awards. She brings this sensibility to her work today, exploring how clearer communication and stronger shared narratives can make policies, services and support easier to understand and act on.
She is particularly drawn to challenges where design can make a meaningful difference to people’s everyday lives — improving how people experience services and systems, making support more accessible and inclusive, designing with vulnerable communities, and developing interventions that respond to the behavioural factors shaping people’s choices and actions. Across her work, she is interested in how human insight can inform strategic change and help organisations create services, experiences and systems that work better for the people they serve.
