Social & Behavioural Systems Research and Design

Human-centred, behavioural and systems research for public and social impact

We conduct social and behavioural systems research to understand how people experience policies, programmes, and services within complex social systems. Our work is grounded in human-centred design as a research and inquiry approach, combined with qualitative research, behavioural science, and systems thinking.

By working closely with people with lived experience, frontline practitioners, and decision-makers, we uncover how behaviours are shaped by social norms, institutional structures, incentives, and constraints. These insights are synthesised at a systems level to inform policy decisions, programme design, service improvement, and long-term system change.
Human-centred design is not the end goal of our work, but a critical means to ensure system-level decisions are grounded in dignity, evidence, and lived reality.
